Leah Matthews felt the breath leave her body as the man sitting across from her desk stood and turned to her in greeting. Ryan's blue eyes locked with hers. Eyes that she hadn’t seen in seven years and thought to never see again.

First of all, I vote for a new, more alluring cover! This cover makes the story look boring and it is not. Second, I know the secret child love story is overdone, but I still love them and enjoyed these characters and their love story. Finally, although I liked this story, it was drawn out too long and could have used a little more editing to make it really sizzle.Leah was "the one" that got away that Ryan always regretted, and a pregnant Leah didn't want to burden an unsuspecting Ryan, so she never got in touch with him again. At one time, Leah and Ryan were best friends that really loved each other and had one spectacular night together but then, never looked each other up again.(?) Seven years later, Ryan ends up at Leah's workplace in new York and the old feelings are still there. Leah intends to tell him about his daughter the first week, but it ends up being several months and by then, Ryan is angry and hurt.
There is A LOT of suspended belief in this story which makes it a little aggravating. I do like the personalities of the characters, although Ryan should have pursued Leah seven years ago as ardently as he pursues her now. Leah's best friend, Jake is way too wonderful of a guy to be so totally invested in little Amy's life like he is. He really is like a second mom, only he is not gay. Miraculously, NOBODY at work ever mentions in those several months that Leah has a daughter. There are two evil co-workers who try to hurt Leah and Jake out of jealousy, but they really do a good job messing up their relationship on their own.
I would read something from this author again.

The book was entertaining though predictable; found myself frequently annoyed by the main character for her decisions. A good read if you want something light.
Leah gets the surprise of her life when she comes into work and finds out there's been a new hire. It's none other than Ryan Thomas, the only man she has ever slept with, one time, seven years ago. The problem, a little girl named Amy that Ryan knows nothing about. Follow the story through Leah's struggles with whether to tell Ryan or not, how she keeps her secret, and what happens when they fall in love again.
This was a very nice story. I felt myself getting tense and tears coming to my eyes and smiling all through this book. I went with the wonderful roller coaster of emotions and found a wonderful cast that I fell in love with.
I love sappy romantic novels and this certainly fits that description. Intriguing story line, suspense and romance. I couldn't put this book down. Read it in one night.

Wow. This book was terrific. The chemistry between Leah and Ryan was sizzling. Will definitely look for more by this author.

Ryan and Leah's story was so incredibly good. The writer pulled me in with her well written words. I was not disappointed at all. Will be reading more from this excellent author. Read this book you will not be disappointed.
